During the period from 14th to the 22nd of September, the first activity of the multi-phase project “Security 101” took place in Rustavi, Georgia, with Aleksandar Karatosho, Aleksandra Kaleova and Ivan Durgutovski participating as representatives of Youth Empowerment Association.

In the beginning of the training, participants had the opportunity to experience how the Internet works and how the information travels between the users, as well as to learn how to encrypt their messages in order to improve their digital security. Furthermore, the study of the most important digital terms, such as malware, tracking, firewall, data mining, big data, etc., was followed by the participants getting acquainted with the Badge Wallet digital badges and continuously fulfilling the objectives set there until the end of the course. In addition, they have learned a number of new extensions, tools and programs that will benefit both their cyber security and personal data protection as well as transferring them to young people they work with in their surroundings. One afternoon, they explored the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, and got to know its history in greater detail.

During the following period after the training, all of the participants will organize their own local activity in order to raise the awareness of the importance of “cyber hygiene” in this digital age.
