Youth Empowerment Association opens a call for 4 young people for the Erasmus+ youth exchange “Y0uth Cancer Ambassadors” taking place in Muş, Turkiye from 2nd to 11th of October 2023.

Cancer is a real challenge around Europe. People needs to increase their awareness, cancer patients need more supports, especially in rural areas where the resources are even more limited. Cancer is a complex group of diseases with serious implications not just for individuals and their families, but also for society in general and health systems in particular. The availability of emotional, practical and informational support from family, friends, peers, healthcare professionals and other cancer patients becomes crucial. Support to young people with cancer is not enough when it is an only one-off. It should be continuous. So, we believe we need young cancer ambassadors to work on this issues.

The main aim of the youth exchange is to increase awareness in cancer and create cancer ambassadors in different European countries so that they can work in their locals. The project will bring 24 participants from 4 countries. The target group is young people and group leaders who are interested and motivated to work on citizenship issues in rural areas. The working methods will be based on non- formal education such as case studies, simulations/role plays, group work, discussions/debates, field visits, outdoor activities, reflection groups, etc.

All expenses during the project (accommodation, food, workshops) are covered by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. Travel costs will be reimbursed up to 275€. Due to the cost of plane tickets at the moment there is a possibility that participants will have to travel Skopje-Istanbul-Skopje by bus and Istanbul-Mus-Istanbul by plane.
